Become a Smart Gardening Faire Sponsor
We invite you to be one of the sponsors for the Fourth Annual Smart Gardening Faire. This one-day, free admission event is scheduled for June 27, 2009 on the grassy fields of Skypark in Scotts Valley. The Monterey Bay Master Gardeners, a non-profit community organization, is organizing this event for home gardeners in pursuit of its educational mission.
The main events of the day will be a series of talks given by strongly qualified speakers, augmented by informational presentations by local gardening, ecological and landscaping groups plus a marketplace of garden related items. The speakers’ topics will be consistent with research conducted by the University of California’s Cooperative Extension and similar institutions.
For 2009, we also are preparing a focus on organic fruits and vegetables, with both demonstrations of edible gardening and cooking and food and wine tasting. The day will include garden-related activities for children, and over fifty exhibit booths by community groups and local businesses.
The Monterey Bay area, which provides an excellent environment for gardening, is the home of many significant gardening groups and businesses.
