Smart Food Production in the City

I grew up in a small farming village in Germany of 150 people and saw our family farm transition through the industrial and chemical revolution. My brother is now an organic farmer in the same village.
I stayed in touch with my farming roots and try to bring lazy and yet efficient food production back into the city. I think a reasonable goal is to produce 1/3 of our produce and meat in our back yards. I will talk about what plants and animals work in Santa Cruz.
Topics touched upon will include: perennial vegetables, fruit trees, fermentation, meat animals, water storage, grey water .
